Z: Viaggio Grande

Z: Viaggio Grande (the Grand Adventure in Italian) is also dubbed as Z: Round Argentina & Hawaii respectively, revolving around Tomo's relationship with the all -famous "Eve of racing", the Queen of Argentina, Ms. Adrianna Eizaguirre. Unlike the S arc, this holds extreme emotions at involves a tragic past of Adrianna's and how the issue of reincarnation is brought upon against the likes of Tomo. A lot of reocurring problems arise and the presence of the legendary McLaren F1 in the series makes this one of the most interesting reads / views in the Speed Legend series. The plot is somewhat related to the S-series as Adrianna, too, is related to Tomo, Daiki and the others before they even met, and it has something to do with a titled ancient group called "Royal Blood" whose affiliates are coded by the royal deck face cards & chess pieces. More interesting drivers & characters appear as Tomo experiences deja Vu for some and how he makes a stand to his own feelings towards Daiki, who soon gave in to what we call, an "awakening" of sorts.

Chapter 61-110 is a fully detailed web story that is dedicated to emotions where as this is followed by a four-part visual novel style movie; which is also my most recent work in my Youtube channel.

Character List:

  • Team Japan: A group of young racers, mechanics & team managers representing Japan in the International Grand Touring League. Handled by Daiki Akiyama, The team has 4 main drivers; specializing in specific race classes of the IGTL, 5 members of the pit league, 1 muse & the General Team Manager:

  • Tomogashi Kitsumoro: One of the 2 protagonists of the Viaggio Grande Arc; one of the main drivers of team Japan. Currently, he feels as if he's a disposable member; not able to represent the team in any of the recent Pro-league races. He was dubbed by Adrianna as a resurrected Marcelo with the probable reason that he acts in a similar manner as Marcelo. He drives his blue R34 Skyline GT-R V-spec II Nur; though detuned to meet Oahu regulations & standards; receives the Z-tune modifications on the Viaggio Grande video series.

  • Daiki Akiyama: The Team Manager of team Japan. He handles everything from accounts, to sponsor deals, to team strategies, and is also the team's spokesman in media conferences. He's the brains behind the operations and the primary funding of the team. He currently is going through with his Awakening and accepts it. From there, he experiences a full demand in absolute victory. He drives his silver Fairlady Z Z-tune (registered as R-tune Power) around the island.

  • Kasumi Nadeshiko: The team muse. Other than representing the team intially like the "brand model" of team Japan, she's Tomo's primary love interest and is taking care of everyone; especially Tomo. She interacts more with Adrianna than the rest of the cast and was even hinted by Adrianna herself to have a so-called value of eternal love which Adrianna admires.

  • Sakura Johina: One of the main drivers of team Japan. She represented the team back at the US Rounds; specifically at Infineon/Sonoma raceway and placed 1st in the GT1 class, just a split second ahead of the Viper GTS-R Oreca. An avid perfectionist at heart, she does her best in making sure her skills are up to par to guarantee victories for the team. She has never lost a single race, until her stay at Oahu. While at Oahu, she was working for a call center at downtown Honolulu to pass the time since she's not the one representing the team. She receives her R34 GT-R V-spec I, given special permission done by Daiki and Tetsuya, which was originally in impound upon arriving to the island as per Oahu regulations.

  • Tetsuya Kudou: The team mechanic and he directly answers to Daiki for any concerns of anyone in the team. Outside the garage, he's Daiki's secretary; somewhat. He's concerned for the likes of Daiki and is not liking the development of his awakening since he's feeling some coldness in his words and actions; something that Tetsuya noticed compared to before.

  • Hiei Kamura: He's one of Tomo's closest long-time friends and is part of the pit crew, handling tire replacements with Ryuusen Kennichi. On off-peak events with the team, he goes out to search for a car of his own; considering the fact that everyone else has their own car; Ryuusen included. A proud owner of a light tuned pink Toyota Supra SZ-R.

  • Ryuusen Kennichi: He's one of Tomo's closest long time friends and is part of the pit crew, handling tire replacements with Hiei Kamura. He's the realist of the trio; though he shares the same comical sanity as that of the other two. He's quite worried over Tomo, Hiei, and Kasumi's actions like a big brother / uncle to the other three. He drives his black Honda S2000 hard-top around the island.

  • Kitami Kitamaru: One of the main drivers of team Japan. He specializes in power & torque control and relies on high power tuning in his races. He drives a 2005 concept-yellow Ford Mustang GT, with the GT-R concept modification, originally maining a red Mazda RX-8 Type S Mazdaspeed.

  • Kyosuke Katsumaru: One of the main drivers of team Japan. He specializes in lightweight machines and handling improvements and relies on his car's technicalities on complex segments of the track. He drives a black Lotus Exige 240R.

  • Shimizu Ohyama: Like Tetsuya, Shimizu is one of Daiki's main consultants and is the chief mechanic under Kyosuke's machine. He's an MR specialist and focuses on supercar tuning. Given his race background, he was upped to represent team Japan in the A-class events. By looks alone, he's a very analytical individual He drives a blue Nissan R390 GT-1 Road car, although originally impounded; but was released after changes with respects to Oahu auto regulations; modified as a base model of the 1997 Le Mans Prototype unit.

  • Kagami Hiroya: Like Tetsuya and Shimizu, Hiroya is one of Daiki's main consultants and is the chief mechanic under Kitami's machine. He specializes in high power and low-RPM machines for A class machines not able to be classified under the lightweight class. He usually is tasked with dealing with parts required for the pit crew and is very laxed outside the team. He drives a white Mines' Modified Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR.

  • Team Argentina: Originally introduced at the start of Speed Legend Z, the team comprises only of 4 people, 2 of which were named and interact more with team Japan both inside and outside the racing league. The team used to be family-run but in recent times, it's only down to 3 since 2 of the ex-members are part of the IGTL Board.

  • Adrianna Eizaguirre: One of the protagonists of the Viaggio Grande Arc and the primary driver of team Argentina. Her unmatched beauty, intellect, and driver-skill merits her the title the "Queen of Racing" and the "Queen of Argentina" by most of her fans. Initially introduced to be a passive-emotionless woman, she suffers from an extreme case of General Anxiety Disorder. The sickness was due to a past and grief witness of her brother's death a long time ago which scarred her to this day. She drives an Orange McLaren F1 LM, while using a FINA themed McLaren F1 GTR Long tail homologation model during the IGTL.

  • Ein: The Eizaguirre family's pioneer manservant / butler; Adrianna's one aide. Ever since the initiation of Adrianna's General Anxiety Disorder, Ein's been the only person taking care of her. Realizing he's harboring romantic feelings for her, he is very protective of Adrianna and her well being, willing to physically confront Tomo at certain instances for Adrianna's sake.

  • Marcelo Eizaguirre: Already deceased. He is Adrianna's older brother whom Adrianna's is mutually intimate with. He died during the 2nd LeMans event when he tried to qualify in a stormy weather without any driving aids. The only one who witnessed his grave crash was Adrianna which left her emotionally scarred on his final moments. He's known to drive an AMG Built Mercedes CLK GT-R base model.

  • The Oahu Locals: Speed Legend Z takes place at Argentina followed by Hawaii and these guys are the ones who comforted Tomo during his time of personal need at Oahu. One of them is also affiliated with Adrianna while one of them wish to be involved more; especially with Adrianna.

  • Joseph: Also known as "Loud Mouth Joseph of Waikiki" is a known drift-style racer of the Oahu Gulf region of Hawaii. He's also the president of the Clubman Auto Club and is well known for his literally, loud-sounding driving. He tends to drive with loud sounding dance music (i.e. Bob Sinclar) and is someone who is well acquainted and avid with the word "freedom". Born in Jamaica but raised at Oahu, he is Minami Suzuki's cousin. He drives a red Noble M400.

  • Anthony: Studied at Chicago Illanois, Anthony is related to Joseph in some way; he is also another cousin of Minami's. He's more level-headed than Joseph's wild personality and acts more like a big-brother to Ryan. He drives a red Pontiac GTO / Vaxhuall Monaro V8.

  • Minami Suzuki: Frankly speaking, Minami's very ordinary as a person; admitting the same facts to her friends and never bothers nor plans to stand out. She caught Tomo's interest given that her physical figure reminds him of one of his past love interests, Rikona Shimmitsu. As a friend, she's caring to Tomo and is quite protective about her little brother Ryan to a certain extent. It is not known however if she does harbor any intimate feelings for Tomo. She drives a red Audi TT 1.8 Quattro Sport which was a present from Joseph upon her return from Japan.

  • Ryan Suzuki: He is Minami's adventurous little brother and he is very protective of her. His involvement with Tomo was to a certain degree because of his relation to his new friend Kaede.

  • Kaede Shimuji: Tomo's friend who's in the same religion since their childhood days. He's not an active racer unlike Tomo but he doesn't take defeats easily, especially from him even in a field he's not fond of. He's close friends with Ryan Suzuki and is like an older brother to him; much like Anthony. He rented a black Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R Base model for him to go around Oahu. He raced Tomo once in a half-mile sprint and lost.

The web series hosted on Youtube has been sub-divided into a four part movie saga with an estimate timeframe per film of under an hour; inclusive of credits roll. Each Film has been hosted on Youtube - divided into three parts each. (Episode X part I-III respectively). Each Part focuses on a certain character, set of characters, or general plot line of the story and they are as follows:

Viaggio Grande I

  • Part 1 -  The part focuses on events right after Chapter 110; forwarding to a latter ongoing race between Tomo and Adrianna; the 200-mile Viaggio Grande; Tour of the Island. • Part 3 - Initially focusing with Adrianna, her seizure overcomes her once more and passes out while driving en route from Oahu Gulf. Viaggio Grande II

  • Part 1 - Still reflecting on his actions; Tomo was being asked by Sakura to meet up all of a sudden. Sakura and Tomo meet to admit things between each other about their aspirations and how one of them is the reason for the other being in the team as a racer. As a parting gift, Tomo takes on Sakura's request to give her a memorable drive in the Porsche 911 he borrowed from the Eizaguirres. - A fan favorite part due to intense Tomo-Sakura fanservice and lovestory theme.

  • Part 2 - Joseph makes a resolution in confronting Adrianna, knowing the factors of her health being the one crucial thing that would make or break the "Viaggio Grande" event she'll have with Tomo. Joseph made arrangements that if he were to win against Adrianna, he'll take over for her in racing Tomo. After the race, Joseph ponders over Adrianna's skill source and she comes clean to the Hawaiian "loud-mouth".

  • Part 3 - nicknamed: "My Little Supra: Drifting is Magic". Although not plot-related, this part is still canon to the story's timeline. Ryuusen Kennichi helps Hiei Kamura out in looking for a car and stumbles upon the presence of Kitana Tioseco who freely helped the two out. Hiei encounters a Toyota Supra that caught his attention and concludes with Tomo test driving the Supra with Hiei as the latter makes up extreme comments of Tomo's driving. - The title is an intentional parody of the title: My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic; tribute to Peteian who's an intense Pinkie-Pie fan of the show.

Viaggio Grande III

  • Part 1 - Opening act depicts the arrival of Lindsey Stirling onto Oahu territory whereas the plot continues from events of Episode II Part 3 (My Little Supra). Meanwhile, Kasumi and Adrianna have an open heart-to-heart talk about her condition, love, and about her deceased brother.

  • Part 2 - Continuing from the opening scene of Episode I Part I, The race between Tomo and Adrianna is already on its final stages. • Part 3 - Adrianna wakes up from her slumber after "talking with Marcelo" on an unknown white realm. Special Notes/Trivia:

  1. The Game Simulator used in this series is Atari's Test Drive Unlimited, released in 2006. There were short features of Gran Turismo 5 and 6; as well as the successor of the main simulator, Test Drive Unlimited 2.

  2. Majority of the Soundtrack features compositions from certain youtubers mainly Thescession and the world-renown independent artist, Lindsey Stirling. An approval discussed through YT Messaging was agreed between YT channel Lindseystomp and YT channel MyogiWarrior34 for a requested approval to use her original compositions, with the compensation of encouraging subscribers after the Viaggio Grande videos to check out and subscribe to Lindsey Stirling's channel.

  3. As a token of gratitude for #2, Lindsey Stirling herself makes a special anime cameo appearance starting at the end of Viaggio Grande II part 3 / My Little Supra onwards; the dev team is planning to have her voice her anime-self which makes a vocal debut on the upcoming Viaggio Grande IV. Lindsey's pianist and drummer on her tours - Gavi and Drew make their initial anime-self debuts on VG III part I. No released plans yet of having vocal lines for Gavi and Drew, but this information may change.

  4. The original debut of the Speed Legend V abolished clan is here; not in Episode 6 of Speed Legend V.

  5. The title Viaggio Grande  is taken in context from the Test Drive Unlimited (PS2/PSP) special events which is also called the "Tour of the Island" (TDU XBOX/PC) - Totalling the perimeter route of 186 miles or 200+ kilometers.

  6. The game physics and top speed values were retained as is during recording hence the horsepower values quoted in between the clips and prior, on the web novel chapters of Tomo's R34 GT-R housing a 400hp estimate and Adrianna's McLaren with double the value.

  7. The style as to how the videos are interpreted are a hybrid of a Visual Novel presentation and an Anime - with very limited movement with the images; it shows a similar presentation as that of popular visual novels such as the Fate series (Fate/Stay Night). The race simulations follow a similar presentation as that of CGI rendering shown in early versions of Initial D [mainly First and Second Stage], mixing 3D CGI with 2D characters.

  8. Viaggio Grande I and II are both Flashback episodes; portraying events prior to the opening race showcased in VG I part I. Also, it is showing events that happened right after the Web Novel chapters of Viaggio Grande. Viaggio Grande III and IV are set in real-time with small hints of flashbacks in between races.
